CarePayment Expands Leadership Team to Manage Rapid Growth

PORTLAND, OR (December 9, 2014) – CarePayment® is expanding its management team as healthcare organizations across the country adopt its model for patient financial engagement and financing. Ben Panning has joined CarePayment as vice president of technology and Daniel Kutchel has been appointed regional vice president for the Midwest.

“Ben and Dan bring the skill, experience and passion for helping providers and patients that we look for at CarePayment. They are assuming key roles as we prepare to roll out additional services and enter new markets in the coming months,” says CEO Craig Hodges.

Kutchel will focus on new sales for hospitals, health systems, medical groups and other providers in the Midwestern states. He will draw on more than 15 years of sales, sales management and marketing experience in the healthcare revenue cycle industry.  Kutchel has held executive sales and leadership positions with Crowe Horwath, LLP, Horizon Financial Management, McKesson, Ernst & Young, and Outsourcing Solutions Inc.  He holds a bachelor of science in business management and a master of business administration from the University of Phoenix and studied history at Youngstown State University.  He is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

Panning is leading the strategy, development and implementation of the technology that powers CarePayment’s patient financial engagement platform. He joined CarePayment after 12 years at GE Healthcare working on clinical and financial healthcare systems, where he moved up the technology ranks and was most recently director of architecture and technology. He has extensive experience in software development, healthcare, and leading and growing teams. Panning earned a bachelor’s of science in aerospace engineering from the University of Cincinnati.
